The Company has undertaken extensive consultation with all relevant stakeholders and has secured local support for the King-king Project
To ensure communities are kept aware of the Project’s development, St. Augustine invites local residents to accompany staff on field visits. The Community Guide Program helps the Company educate Pantukan residents about the project and helps maintain the support and trust of the local communities. St. Augustine is currently developing a Social Development and Management Plan that will maximize the positive impacts of the mine’s development.

The King-king Project will create well-paying jobs for communities in the project’s area of influence.  Approximately 4,000 jobs will be created during mine construction and over 1,500 positions during production, with additional indirect employment opportunities made available throughout development and mine life.St. Augustine has partnered with the Philippine Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to build capacity in local communities. The Authority will provide necessary skills training to allow local communities to fully benefit from the employment opportunities provided by the mine. In addition, St. Augustine provides internship opportunities for students enrolled at the local college or vocational school, giving students the opportunity to learn through hands-on experiences.

St. Augustine has committed to supporting local industries and the local economy by sourcing the bulk of its goods and services locally. The Company is committed to maintaining high levels of local content throughout the project and will continue to provide local residents with capacity building opportunities.
